DIVINE WHISPER with FR. PIUSRALPH EFFIONG, SMMM

WEDNESDAY OF THE 17TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME OF THE YEAR (B)
Mystery of the day: Glorious

"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure."  (Matthew 13:44a)

Dearest friend(s) in Christ, in our today's spiritual journey we bare our minds on our final home.
It is obvious that, our life as Christians is always in procession, and not in recession. Every one keeps on progressing. But the fundamental question is: Where are you going to?

Our daily thoughts, words and actions define where we are heading to. It is a determinant factor to our destination.  That is why Evangelist Matthew in this gospel pericope reported Jesus' illustration of our final destination with "a treasure hidden in a field." saying:

"... the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up; then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field." (Matthew 13:44)

This therefore invites us to the understanding of the price we have to pay to get to this blissful abode. Though Christ paid the debt in full but we still have our part to play.

This responsibility points to a healthy relationship we ought to have with others, the thought of Divinity, speaking of truth come what may and acting in accordance with the detects and commands of God.

Finally, let our minds be clued to our Heavenly home. For when we do this, our actions will be moderated by the law of God.
Peace be with you!
Fada PIUSRALPH prays for you.

Let us pray
Merciful Lord, we are grateful to You for the gift entrusted to us for the care and benefit of ourselves. May we see You in every event of life and give You thanks in every situation. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
