DIVINE WHISPER with FR. PIUSRALPH EFFIONG, SMMM

FRIDAY OF THE 15TH WEEK OF ORDINARY TIME YEAR (B)
Mystery of the day: Sorrowful

"This day shall be for you a memorial day, and you shall keep it as a feast to the LORD; throughout your generations you shall observe it as an ordinance for ever.” (  Exodus 11:14)

Dearest friend(s) in Christ, good morning and may God's choicest blessing be upon you and your household this weekend. Amen.

In our reflection this morning, I wish to take our minds back to that ancient command "obedience" which can be rightly listed as one of the outstanding virtues. Through it man was reconciled back to God through Christ our Lord who obeys the Father in doing His will.

Today, the author of the Book of Exodus refreshed our thoughts on Israelites' experience in Egypt and Pharaoh's refusal to let them go.
For them to Passover God gave Moses and Aaron prescriptive rule which to be followed. (cf. Exodus 11:10ff.)
In following this detect God made marvelous things among them. Thus commanding them (the Israelites) to keep the day as Memorial with thanks.

"This day shall be for you a memorial day, and you shall keep it as a feast to the LORD; throughout your generations you shall observe it as an ordinance for ever.” (  Exodus 11:14)

In view of this, God has blessed us every now and then with beautiful things. Sadly, we often fail to recognize this kind gesture with thanks. We keep on asking for more even in abundance. We live complaining and seeking for what may not in anyway contribute to our growth in spirit.

Beloved in Christ, let us learn act of gratitude to God for all that He has done for us, for out of love His only begotten Son paid the debt in full. This act of love gives us the joy which no human can give, we cannot buy it or create it. For it is all about God.

Finally, let us always keep in mind God's command and act accordingly for the scripture says:

"My sheep hear my voice, says the Lord; and I know them, and they follow me"   (John 10:27) In doing this, the love of God will keep us going and we will never lack.

Peace be with you!
Fada PIUSRALPH prays for you.

Let us pray
Merciful God, Yours is the earth and its fullness. We are grateful to you for the wonders of our being. As You granted us the privilege of seeing the dawn of this weekend sustain us in Your care and comfort us in moment of distress. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
