DIVINE WHISPER with FR. PIUSRALPH EFFIONG, SMMM

WEDNESDAY OF THE 20TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME OF THE YEAR (B)
Mystery of the day: Glorious

"... you go into the vineyard too." (Matthew 20:7)

Man by nature remains an insatiable being right from onset. This act of vice is the product of envy and greediness.  That is "not being contented" with what we have, where and who we are.

In today's reflection Evangelist Matthew in the gospel pericope presents before us the mind of God towards His children devoid of every obstacle ranging from race, sex, culture, status, time and space. He does not consider the situation or how people look at you, but does His will as it pleases Him.

But why then are we begrudge of God’s generosity over others? In His Words today  He Divinely Whispers:

"... you go into the vineyard too." (Matthew 20:7)
Yes, the owner of the vineyard declares.

This portrays His plan which is beyond human imagination. For He sees not as man sees but as "a merciful father."  He blesses, protects and provides without a cost.

Has anyone ever complained that God has blessed you with good health? Considering the number of death each day. Behold the beautiful family! He has blessed you with. How much work did you do to get it? The beautiful sunrise you are enjoying, do you think you labour for it or your lineage deserved it? Come to think of the many goodies God has blessed us with, then you will know that He loves us so much.

Why then do we complain about blessings of others, as if we ourselves are worthy than those whom God has decided out of His magnanimity to bless.

Be contented, for it is the best of all riches. Rejoice over others' successes, fame and glory so that you will as well receive standing ovation when your glory shall be revealed among men.
Peace! Be with you.
Fada PIUSRALPH prays for you.

Let us pray.
Dearest Lord. we thank You for Your love care and concern upon us. We are grateful to You for the break of the dawn and the many gifts we have received. Grant us we pray the courage and grace to rejoice over the success of others. So that we may be blessed according to the riches of Your glory. We ask this through Christ our Lord.  Amen
